“Just for today, I will be grateful.”

I’m soaking up the warm sun and listening to the breeze blow through the palm trees. I’m so blessed. I’m so blessed to live in this beautiful city, to be able to teach the gift of yoga, to have a loving husband and daughter, a family and true friends that support me, and amazing teachers to help guide me. I am truly blessed.

I am so done with taking it all for granted. Life, the ocean, the beaches, the mountains, my breathe, my body. I’ll never take it for granted again. I know how fortunate that I am. To be able to wake up every day, see the beautiful sun, and to teach Yoga is a true honor. I’ve been dreaming it in my head for a long time. To live out your dreams is so magical and special. I have spent the last two years checking off, one by one, my list of goals.

I have finally found my place in this world. Doing what I love and making real human connection. We’ve all become screens in each others lives. Watching and reading. That human connection was something that was missing in me. The missing piece to my puzzle.

I’m done playing small to others. I’m done hiding who I am for the benefit of others. I’m a hippie, who does yoga every damn day, believes in all the magical love and light in this world. I dance with my husband in the kitchen, believe in the woo woo magic of crystals, make everything from scratch, and sometimes smell like a “granola”. I believe how special this Earth is and I believe in the good of this world.

I’m going to continue to spread my light. It’s done dimming for others. We benefit no one by making ourselves small.

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others." -Marianne Williamson

So just know this, whoever you are, however you found this, just know that I truly hope you are doing well. That your loved ones and family are too. With such heavy hearts the last few days it’s never to late to wish someone well. To hope that all their dreams come true. Wish and pray for them to live their best life and I really wish that for you. Every day won’t be rainbows and sunshine but every day is a new day and just for today, I will be grateful.
